An international quarterly publication, the Journal of IT for Development is being launched with support from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Professor Subhash Bhatnagar
will be succeeding Dr. S. Ramani as Editor. Prof. Bhatnagar is well known to the IFIP community, having successfully chaired IFIP Working Group 9.4 for a number of years. This
prestigious publication, with an established readership beyond Commonwealth countries, enhances the institutionalisation of COMNET-IT and its membership entitlements.
A significant proportion of responses to a global survey on the subject of "On-Line Governance" organised jointly with UNESCO have now been received and recorded. An interim report on
this project was promoted for discussion and feedback at the Global Knowledge Partnership meeting in Malaysia in early March. Institutional partners are now being sought to sustain an on-going
activity concerned with further comparative study, in-country pilot projects and guidance to developing countries.
