The workshops are geared to building the capabilities of policy makers and practitioners in identifying, implementing, managing, and using new information and communications technologies for economic and social development.

Framework Programme 7 & Participation of African Researchers

The IST-Africa consortium of which COMNET-IT is a lead partner is organising a series of FP7 Training Workshops in Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda during late November and December 2007 in relation to Call 3 of FP7-ICT (FP7-ICT-2007-3), which closes in March/April 2008. The goal of the IST-Africa FP7 Training Workshops is to inform researchers in Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda about FP7-ICT and the opportunities open to participation, qualify organisations with the necessary track record and capacity to participate in FP7-ICT, and promote such organisations to potential European partners.
